Lyndsay Reese, Psy.D.

Lyndsay Reese, Psy.D. is a licensed Clinical Forensic Psychologist with experience in the assessment and treatment of substance use, personality, mood, schizophrenia spectrum, and neurodivergent presentations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a two minors in Education and Art from University of California, Davis as well as a Master of Arts and Doctorate of Psychology degree in Clinical Forensic Psychology from Alliant International University, Sacramento. She has worked in multiple forensic and general population settings in California, Oregon and Washington including in private practice, at the California Conditional Release Program (CONREP), community mental health, skilled nursing, and schools. While she currently practices primarily in California, she maintains an inactive license in Oregon and can provide services in Oregon if needed.

 

Dr. Reese utilizes an eclectic approach rooted in Psychodynamic, and Control Mastery Theories with influences and tools from Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Choice Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and also trauma focused approaches such as Cognitive Processing Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Focus of sessions are typically devoted to partnering with the client to build insight and modify maladaptive behaviors in a safe and supportive environment. She strives to give individualized interventions tailored to the Client’s needs. Dr. Reese is also devoted to advocacy for underserved populations. She is passionate, intuitive, creative, and invested in understanding the human experience; specifically yours.

Duties:  Scovel & GeroMedical psychological services are two companies in one. The first is an outpatient psychotherapy office providing services for patients seeking individual and family therapy or psychological assessment. The latter is a contract company with SNF, ALF, and other inpatient settings attending to the psychological needs of patients residing in their care. Duties include intakes, psychological assessment, individual psychotherapy, consultation, and medication recommendations.

Golden Gate Conditional Release Program (CONREP), 07/2013 - 07/2014    

Position: Predoctoral Clinical Psychology Intern

Clientele:  Adult males and females (forensic pop.)

Sacramento Assessment & Treatment Center, 07/2012 - 07/2013    

Position: Third Year Practicum Student

Clientele: Adjudicated male and female adolescents (forensic pop.)

Duties: Provision of assessment services per referral from Sacramento Juvenile Probation. The assessment is conducted to determine diagnosis and also best fit for the adolescent for level “A” placement (in state but outside of the home). Findings are presented to a multidisciplinary team, which included myself, supervising psychologist, social worker, probation officer, and psychiatrist. Occupational, recreational, and psychological assessment was completed for 2-3 individuals approximately once a week and training was provided to practice use of the MACI, WDRAS, YSR, Jessness, H-T-P, TAT, Sentences Completion, LDSR, Los Rios Career Aptitude test, SATC Client Occupational/Recreational Interview Form, and a Clinical Interview that includes an MSE. Additionally, group and individual therapy was provided for some clients residing long term at Quality Group Homes, Inc.

Clientele: Children ranging in age from 3 to 18 years (general pop.)

Duties: Administer intellectual and cognitive assessments to students who evidenced possible learning and developmental  disabilities and/or emotional disturbances.
